Neutopia selected for CPH: Lab 2017, merging art with technology to create new projects

Neutopia aims to re-imagine our future by appropriating the language of advertising to sell a vision of a better world.

Since 2009 CPH: Lab (part of CPH: Dox) has been facilitating collaboration between creative and technical professionals, in order to drive innovation processes into the film industry. The programme also focuses on pairing up cross-disciplinary partners and bridging the gap with film festivals and new formats. Tine Fischer, the festival's founder says, “Our goal is not only to invite artists; it is also to introduce them to technology that is a real driver so that artistic minds will pair with technology in a completely new format.”

Portraits/Neutopia took part in the Impact section and saw team members Phie AmboTheis SchmidtAlyce Currier and Leah Borromeo launch a campaign of short films that use the language of advertisements to promote social awareness on key issues. 

The lab is curated by producer Susanne Marian and researcher Colin McSwiggen.
