Listen To Britain to broadcast at 9pm BBC4, 24th September
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Listen to Britain, Humphrey Jennings and Stewart McAllister's poetic collage of British life, BBC Four and BFI commissioned 12 short films to celebrate Jennings' legacy. Directed by Ruth Grimberg, "Learning to Swim" will broadcast this coming Sunday at 9pm
Listen to Britain 2017 is a wonderful celebration of Humphrey Jennings’ extraordinary legacy, and Disobedient was proud to produce Ruth Grimberg's "Learning to Swim" as part of the series.
The series premiered on the 19th September at the BFI where BFI curators Robin Baker and Patrick Russell paid tribute to the original 1942 film, whilst Cassian Harrison, Channel Editor for BBC Four acknowledged the rare opportunity this BBC/BFI partnership had offered to filmmakers to make truly observational documentaries.
The films will transmit on BBC Four on Sunday 24th September at 9pm in a special evening of programming introduced by Oscar winning director Kevin Macdonald.
